Magazine @ LA Ave Closure
Magazine St. Closure/ Detours In Place
The street closure on Magazine at Louisiana Avenue began a few days ago and is scheduled to remain until the end of January, weather permitting. This work is related to the US Army Corp of engineers’ Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Project (SELA) now underway for the length of Louisiana Avenue. This closure is for roadway reconstruction.
Magazine Street will be closed on the east (downtown) side of Louisiana Avenue until Wednesday, January 31, 2018. During this closure, two-way traffic will be maintained on Louisiana Avenue. Traffic traveling west (uptown) on Magazine Street will be detoured at Toledano Street. Traffic traveling east (downtown) on Magazine Street will be able to access Louisiana Avenue.
Throughout construction, the Army Corps will continue to coordinate closures with its partners at the City of New Orleans and the Sewerage and Water Board.
