Garden-loving residents are invited to join this exclusive Garden District Association club, Joueurs de Jardin. Joueurs de Jardin promises a little fun while learning about what makes our gardens grow. Throughout the year, four gatherings will be held at homes boasting some of the areas’ best gardens. Greeted by wine and nibbles, club members will enjoy tours of the garden followed by a short presentation by experts and master gardeners on topics any true gardener will find enlightening. In addition, one hands-on workshops will be offered to help the do-it-yourselfers. Check out the tentative schedule below and join us to play in the garden.

Sowing Success: Laissez les Bons Temps Fleurir! Hosted and moderated by Julia Lennox Demo and take- home kits with seeds and soil. Join us in the garden for “Laissez les Bons Temps Fleurir,” a hands-on demonstration where you will master simple, foolproof tips for successfully sowing and caring for beautiful spring blooms like California poppies, larkspur, alyssum, and nigella. Le Jardin Lent: The Art of French-Style Eco-Floral Design – WORKSHOP* Organized Carolyn Fitzpatrick Embrace the sustainable movement of “slow flower” arranging popular in Europe in this hands-on, eco-friendly design workshop. This workshop teaches you how to look to your own garden and our local growers for inspiration, utilizing organic flowers, wild foliage, and foam-free mechanics. Using natural structure and sustainable techniques, you will design and take home your own arrangement.
Wine and Walk Garden Tour Organized by Andrea Bland Spring gardens in the Garden District allure with fragrant flowering boxwood-lined beds resplendent with gardenias, roses and delightful Love in the Mist, California Poppies, and Foxglove. Enjoy strolling through the parterres and enjoy a cocktail on the screen porch of the Gasquet Bland House on Jackson and “wine-walk” to Philip Street where gracious gardens and homeowners abound. |

- Seasonal membership fee – $50 per person or $80 per couple for the gatherings noted above. An extra fee will be assessed for workshop supplies..
