Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon & Half Marathon Announces 2017 Street Closures
NEW ORLEANS – The 2017 Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon & Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, February 5, 2017. This marks its 8th year with the series since the inaugural race in 2010, and its 52nd year since the race began in 1965 as the Mardi Gras Marathon.
Over the years, Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans has become one of the biggest party courses in the nation, incorporating local musical acts and an epic Finish Line Festival complete with free-flowing beer.
The Humana Rock ‘n’ Roll New Orleans Marathon & 1/2 Marathon will begin on Poydras Street near Lafayette Square
and finish in City Park near Tad Gormley Stadium.
The Full & Half Marathon races will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the 10K will start earlier at 7:00 a.m. at St. Charles Street and S Maestri Street.
New to 2017 is a Saturday 5K in City Park that will begin at 7:15am.
