A release from the Uptown Messenger reports that a man was shot on Washington Avenue about a block off of St. Charles Avenue several hours after parades concluded, New Orleans police said early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Washington (between Baronne and Carondelet) around 1:35 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 3.  He was taken to surgery and his condition was not immediately known according to NOPD Officer Garry Flot,, a departmental spokesman.
According to later reports, it was believed that the man was shot inside of Verrett’s Bar at that location.  No furher information on the victim or suspects are known at the time of this writing.
Anyone with information is urged to call the NOPD Sixth District station at 658-6060 to speak to a detective, or CrimeStoppers at 822-1111 to leave an anonymous tip that could be eligible for a cash reward.
